Tales of Macallan - Volume 1

The Tales of Macallan series has been released to honour the trailblazing luminaries from Macallan history.

Tales of Macallan Volume 1 tells the story of Captain John Grant, the first true custodian.  Captain John lived and worked on the Easter Elchies Estate, leading the way to The Macallan we know today.

Captain John had inherited the estate from his ancestors, which included the infamous Easter Elchies house.  In 1700, John restructured and expanded the house to add another wing. He also helped to improve farming and agriculture - foreshadowing the creation of The Macallan Distillery.

The whisky was distilled in 1950 and bottled in 2021 at the incredible age of 71-Years-Old. It is encased in a handcrafted Lalique crystal decanter, concealed within almanac book telling the stories of Captain John Grants time on the Easter Elchies estate.
